Welcome to HinT : Hobbygamers in Thanet.
HinT is an organisation, or perhaps a disorganisation, created to give players of Roleplaying Games, Card Games, Board Games, Miniature Games, Wargames, and pretty much any other sort of game that someone want to come along and suggest, an opportunity to get together and play. Based on (should that be in?) the Isle of Thanet, we mainly play in Margate or Ramsgate.
HinT are playing "semi-open" games (mainly boardgames, CCGs and wargames) for anyone interested, occuring on occasional Sunday afternoons in Margate. These games are run at a member's personal abode and are thus "invitation only" but invitations can be arranges by signing up to the fogonline.com forums and messaging Fishy.
Contrary to my previous update, it was actually the forces of the Federated Suns who triumphed in BattleTech on Sunday the 8th of August. Somehow I forgot which side was which.
We will be arranging another game soon, watch this space for further updates.
It has now been confirmed that this year's HinT Halloween game is going to be a classic, Linda-run, Call of Cthulhu. And when we say "classic", we mean it! Drutt's rebuilding the scenario that originally introduced Hamilton Arthur Quigley, the character who inspired the name for Chablis Roleplaying Productions. The exact details of when it's going to be run will, obviously, be determined closer to the time but we're putting out the call for players now so that we can get an idea of whose going to be playing.
Apply on the Fogonline.com Forums or, if you already know how, get in touch with Linda or Myself to get in on the action.
Scenario Pre-Briefing : "The House", as it is affectionately known, is a standard CoC spook-fest set in the classic Lovecraftian '20s. It takes place in a country house during a party, one of those extended affairs that result in guests visiting for the whole weekend (for examples see almost any Jeeves & Wooster). Characters will be created by Linda, based on consultation with the players, so that you get the character you want but she can ensure that everything she needs for the scenario is present, and should all be persons of a certain "social acceptability" or the servants of such people.
NB. This is a tabletop game, players do NEED to be able to attend the session in person, in Margate, but when we have a list of players we'll try to arrange the timing to suite the maximum number of would-be players.
